Privacy Policy for Arbaeen Companion

Arbaeen Companion ("the app") is a bilingual (English/Urdu) companion app for pilgrims undertaking the Arbaeen walk from Najaf to Karbala. This policy explains what information, if any, the app handles.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
• The app does not require account creation, sign-in, or a username of any kind.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind.
• The app does not access your camera, contacts, precise location, or microphone.

2. Information Stored On Your Device

• Your chosen language (English or Urdu) is saved locally on your device and never leaves it.
• Recitation audio you choose to download for offline listening is saved to your device's local storage and never leaves it or is transmitted to us.

3. Network Connections

• The app checks your device's network connectivity status to decide whether to offer online or offline content. This check happens entirely on your device and sends no data to us or anyone else.
• Some buttons in the app open duas.org in your device's browser, only when you tap them while online. We do not control and are not responsible for that third-party site's own privacy practices.
• When you choose to download a recitation for offline use, the audio file is fetched directly from duas.org's servers to your device.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not share any information with third parties, because we do not collect any information to share.

5. Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it collects no personal data at all.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date.
